About the event
Meditation is an ancient practice used in many cultures all around the world to cultivate calmness, peace, and harmony within the mind, body and soul of the participant. Guided meditations are useful for those who are new to the practice and for those who enjoy being taken on a relaxing journey. A regular practice of meditation will help alleviate daily stress, overwhelm, anxiety and depression. With this weekly guided group meditation journey, you will learn how to conciously breathe, relax into the parasympathetic nervous system which calms the body's reactions to over stimulation triggered by the sympathetic nervous system. Simply put, meditation helps to calm the nerves which promotes harmony in order to acheive better health. Our bodies can only repair and heal from disease when we are in a natural state of homeostasis (energetic balance and haromony - Calmness). When we sleep we go into homeostasis. In our waking world with so many distractions and fears flying around, we end up in a state of fight or flight more often than not, which takes us out of homeostasis and will eventually cause disease and/or keep up from healing a pre existing issue. So it's viatally important and imperative for our overall health and well being to learn how to be and remain calm whicle participating in a world of chaos. This practice is easier than you might even realise and I'm happy to share the different types of meditation journeys that have helped me on my journey of becoming more balance and healthy.
